How do I know if my child is ready for kindergarten?

Children entering kindergarten vary greatly in their levels of social, emotional, educational and physical skills. All children are uniquely created and thrive through different modes of teaching (visual, auditory, tactile and kinesthetic). Shouldn't these differences be evaluated and respected? Shouldn't a classroom and its teacher have flexible options to meet the needs of each individual?
