Summer Camps

Join the Keystone SonShine Adventure Team! We are looking for enthusiastic, attentive camp counselors to lead, support, and motivate campers for 8 weeks, as they enjoy all our camp has to offer. The camp counselor will help plan lessons, and activities that help build character, conflict resolution, leadership skills, and team building.

Responsibilities:

Be an active participant in all camp activities and supervise campers at all times
Assist camp director(s) with a variety of daily tasks
Interact with all campers throughout the entire day
Plan, guide and teach a range of activities
Act as a role model for expected behavior
Maintain a positive relationship with parents and other staff and communicate necessary information in a professional manner
Perform general housekeeping inside and outside the building
Attend all staff meetings
Perform other duties that may be assigned

Qualifications:

All employees of Keystone Sonshine Adventure must have a strong testimony of a personal faith in Jesus Christ and demonstrate that faith in a manner consistent with KSA’s Mission Statement and Core Values. They must be in agreement with all areas defined in the handbook, including lifestyle and code of conduct.
Candidates must have a high school diploma/GED as well as obtain clearances per the Pennsylvania State Requirements for working with children.
Candidates should have 2500 documented hours of previous experience working with children.
CPR and First Aid certification not needed at time of hire but preferred
Must be able to be outside for long periods of time; in a summer setting
Must be physically active with campers: hiking, outdoor games, swimming, etc.
Reacts well under pressure; treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position
Adapts to change quickly
