Mrs. Jessica Potter

A co-founder of KCA, Mrs. Potter holds a B.S. in education from Towson University and an M.Ed. in Special Education from Johns Hopkins University. This year, Mrs. Potter will also be teaching middle school classes.

Mr. Michael Deppen

A Certified Public Accountant, Mr. Deppen has a long and diverse background in financial planning and analysis. He earned his accounting degree from York College of PA and is very involved in the York Community.

Mr. Ryan Swarner

Mr. Swarner has experience in many different areas of education from teaching, to coaching, and athletic directing. He holds a B.S. in Applied Mathematics, Finance focus from Geneva College and is currently pursuing an M.A in Higher Education, Athletic Leadership from Messiah University.

A former preschool teacher, Mrs. Bittner has served KCA in various roles in and out of the classroom and is currently using her excellent organizational and people skills to manage the school office and assist where needed.

Mr. Justin Hartman

Mr. Hartman graduated with a B.S. in German as a Second language for Education, and a M.Div. in Theology. He has been teaching at KCA for 5 years and also works as the Curriculum Director. Mr. Hartman primarily teaches Bible, English, and Language at the high school level.

 

Mr. Hartman is also the associate pastor at a local church in Dillsburg. He takes great joy in walking alongside his wife Julia, his students and their families, and his congregation as they pursue the Lord together. Mr. Hartman writes:

"Teaching here has been an unexpected, yet rewarding, experience in which I can live out God’s calling for my life as a teacher of His Word and of academic material. It is also a wonderful opportunity to see how God is calling and working in the hearts of the future generations."

Mrs. Tammy Harrison

Mrs. Harrison graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Christian Education from Messiah College. Since then, she has over 30 years of experience teaching young children. Mrs. Harrison has taught elementary classes at KCA since its first day. Mrs. Harrison is married with one daughter.

Mrs. Harrison's prayer for her KCA students is written by Paul in Ephesians 3:17-19:

 

"that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God."

Chad Johnson,
Board President

Chad is happily married to Meagen since 2009 with two daughters, Willow and Winter, who both attend KCA. He has an Associates Degree in Electronic Engineering, is a Fellows Alumni of the C.S. Lewis Institute since 2018, is a 4th degree Black Belt and Instructor of Isshinryu Karate and a Certified Kickboxing Trainer.

 

Chad is also an author and enjoys reading incessantly on philosophy and theology, and talking with others on the deepest possible topics mankind can think of - with hopes of leading them to Christ.

Wendy Crane
 

Wendy has been married to her husband, Curt, since 1999 and have four children. She has a BS in Chemistry Education with a minor in music, and an MST in Physics teaching.

 

Wendy currently teaches at York College of Pennsylvania. Previously, Wendy taught at KCA from 2014-2018, and loves to continue to support its ministry.


In her spare time, she enjoys reading, baking, and making music!

Deb Best
 

Deb Best is a member of the Philanthropy team at United Way of York County and a volunteer leader for Cityview Church, Junior League of York, the Central PA Chapter of Association of Fundraising Professionals, and DreamWrights Center for Community Arts. 

 

She has an Associate of Arts from Community College of Baltimore County and a certificate in Fundraising from Temple University. Her career, spent primarily in nonprofit organizations, has garnered experience in marketing, development, volunteer and community engagement, event planning, and client stewardship.

 

Deb and her family have called York County home since 2021, and are proud to support the ministry of KCA.

Pat Howell
 

Patricia (Pat) Howell is retired from the banking industry. She has been married for over 40 years to her husband Tom. They have lived in York for the past 22 years and have two sons and three grandchildren.

 

Pat is active in her church, Praise Community Church, in the Prayer ministry, with Guest Services, and Women's Ministries.

 

Pat has been a financial supporter since KCA came to Asbury UMC and also volunteers with Mrs. Harrison's class.

 

Pat writes: "It is a privilege to be on the board and to serve a school that loves and serves the Lord and teaches about Jesus as Lord and savior."
