PUBLIC INVITED TO HEAR JENNIFER FOXWORTHY AT KEYSTONE CHRISTIAN ACADEMY

Keystone Christian Academy invites the public to experience a presentation by inspirational speaker and author Jennifer Foxworthy, Friday, February 7, at Asbury United Methodist Church, York, from 9:30-10:30 a.m.

Foxworthy is invited to speak at Keystone Christian Academy’s morning chapel service, and the school, in cooperation with Asbury United Methodist Church, has decided to open this special inspirational opportunity to the public. Foxworthy will tell the inspirational story of her "journey to succeed against all odds": I CAN! I WILL! I DID!
An award-winning motivational speaker, Foxworthy travels the country to help people find personal peace, purpose, and power by transparently drawing upon her personal life experiences with low self-esteem, domestic violence and overcoming adversity. She is the author of Tomorrow My Sunshine Will Come: Memoirs of Women Who Survived Domestic Violence, the television show host of Living Unshackled on Purpose, host of the Unstoppable You conference, and a corporate trainer for the College of Southern Maryland.

As a native of York, Foxworthy’s message resonates especially well with York County audiences who can identify with her and be inspired by her success. Born and raised in York, Foxworthy graduated from William Penn Senior High and embarked on a distinguished career in the United States Navy.

As an aircrewman, Foxworthy flew in combat missions in support of three wars (Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq), logged over 3700 flight hours and received four Air Medals. She was the first African-American female aircrewman, the first African-American aircrewman in the enlisted ranks and the first female in-flight technician during her squadron tours.
After completing the Substance Abuse and Rehabilitation Program School, she changed her focus in the military from warfare to welfare and became a certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. She earned numerous awards including Outstanding Military Person of the Year, 2007 Naval Air Station Whidbey Island Sea Sailor of the Year, two Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, and five Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals.

After retiring from the service with the rank of Chief Petty Officer, she is pursuing her second career as the founder and CEO of Inspirationally Speaking, LLC, and the founding president and CEO of Unstoppable You Ministries, Inc.
Foxworthy is a friend and supporter of Keystone Christian Academy in its efforts to serve the York community, especially those children who are not well-served by traditional “one-size-fits- all” educational models or “teaching to the test” approaches. In contrast to strict curriculum methods and demands for high test scores, KCA recognizes that each child learns in a unique way and creatively finds enjoyable, successful approaches based on each student’s learning style and strengths.

The school, currently serving children in kindergarten through ninth grade, is located on the facilities of Asbury United Methodist Church, 340 East Market Street in York’s Historic District. Ample parking for the event is located behind the church at Reinecke Place. For more information, call 717-850-0943.
